Abstract Pop Geometric,"No. 102" is part of a series titled the "Elements" Collection. It consists of works focusing on strong geometrics, color, and rhythms. Michaels has explored the interaction of color and shape by experimenting on canvas with the possibilities of achieving a multidimensional surface for the viewer. The highly textured background sets the stage for the square, circle, triangle and lines that define the piece. The primary colors combine the artist's perspective and development with her interests in philosophy, spirituality, and her belief that evolution can be achieved through abstraction. The triangular point depicts a strong foundation that allows you to launch into a higher reality. Triangles represent manifestation, enlightenment, revelation, and a higher perspective. It is often used to mark the cycles of growth that lead to a higher state of being. The square naturally has four points, four seasons, four elements on Earth, four cosmic elements and four phases of human life. The eternal circle represents no beginning or end. The shapes, lines, and colors symbolize the unity of innate and spiritual forces forging the relationships between art and life. All components create a harmonious contrast, symbolizing the balance and tension of dynamic forces.
Completed in 2023 at the artist's studio in New York. The mediums in the painting are enamel, acrylic, gold leaf on canvas.
