Sea of Blue is part of a series begun in 2011, focused on geometrics, colors, and rhythms that unlock the keys to our inner worlds. Central to this collection, color plays a pivotal role. In this piece, blue symbolizes the ocean and tranquility, evoking feelings of freedom, intuition, imagination, and inspiration. It speaks to depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, and faith.
An open circle, representing the warm sun, invites opportunity and embodies universal concepts of wholeness, the Self, and the infinite. The circle in Sea of Blue symbolizes cyclic movement, encompassing both the masculine power of the sun and the soul, while the encircling waters evoke the maternal principle, hinting at the eternal flow of time and the perpetual motion of the universe.
Lines, shapes, texture and colors in this work illustrate the unity of natural and spiritual forces, forging a deep connection between art and life. This interplay invites viewers to recognize their place within the grand tapestry of human experience, sparking a dialogue between the self and the universe. The painting is intended to inspire energy and bring a burst of boldness into any space, encouraging both reflection and action.
Sea of Blue was completed in the fall of 2022 at the artist’s studio in Soho, New York.
