Underneath the Surface explores the layers of meaning and perception hidden beneath the visible. The canvas reveals a subtle interplay of colors and shapes, with a circle subtly embedded beneath the surface. The translucent blues and orange tones evoke a sense of depth, while the pink at the bottom anchors the composition, creating a balance between energy and stillness. A vibrant, nonlinear bar of color flows across the middle, its thick depth and dripping edges symbolizing the fluidity and unpredictability of life. This work invites the viewer to look beyond the surface, engaging with the piece in a dialogue about what is seen and what lies beneath.
Underneath the Surface was completed in 2023 at the artist’s studio in Soho, New York.
